Developed in Korea, Binary CDMA is a proprietary short-range wireless communication technology that combines the strengths of CDMA and TDMA to enable multimedia transmission, including video. Conventional wireless access technologies for industrial digital devices—whether commercially available or under development—have various issues, including radio interference, depending on the characteristics of each system. Binary CDMA is an innovative solution developed in Korea to overcome such limitations by combining the strengths of CDMA and TDMA. SMEC is developing diverse solutions powered by B-CDMA video and data transmission modems, expanding its presence in domestic and international markets across the security, IoT, and remote meter reading sectors.
B-CDMA is a solution being developed in collaboration with Innovid Co., Ltd.

- Supports various transmission rates (6–55 Mbps) for unstable wireless environments
-
Superior long-range wireless transmission and reception compared with conventional short-range wireless communications
- Video, voice, and data transmission up to 500 m without a base station
-
Dynamic channel allocation without interfering with existing wireless communication channels
- Can coexist with WLAN, Bluetooth, and Zigbee in the same environment
-
Standalone network configuration
- Standalone ad-hoc network configuration between devices without a separate AP
- Up to 250 active devices per piconet
-
Reliable data transmission
- Data reliability and quality of service (QoS) assurance against multiple-access failures
- Encryption of transmitted data
- Domestic standards: KS X4650-1, KS X4650-2
