High Performance Turning Center Combining Box Guideways with Wedge Y-axis

The SMEC SL 2000·2500 Y/SY series offers a wide range of configurations with their range of 6~10(12)-inch main spindles, maximum turning length up to 1,284mm, wedge Y-axis and SY models incorporating sub-spindles to support OP10 and OP20 machining in one setup. The high rigidity box guides on all axes and 30° slant bed with low center of gravity suppresses vibrations and thermal growth during heavy cutting, while the servo turret and rapid feedrates minimizes non-cutting time.

±52.5/±50mm Wedge Y-axis with BMT55/BMT65 Milling

The y
axis enables eccentric milling and off
center drilling, while the 12[24] station turret indexes in just 0.15 seconds per station. The SL 2000Y/SY comes with a BMT55 turret and the SL 2500Y/SY comes with a BMT65 turret with 5,000rpm live tool.
