High Productivity Y-axis Turning Center Capable of Heavy Duty Cutting and Complex Machining of Long Parts

The SMEC SL 3500Y/4500Y Series are Y-axis horizontal turning centers with high rigidity box guideways on all axes offering a wide range of configurations with their range of 12~24 inch main spindles, maximum Ø620mm turning diameter and maximum 5,000mm turning length. The low center of gravity 30°/45° slant bed suppresses vibrations and thermal growth during heavy cutting, while the Y-axis BMT milling turret enables turning, milling and off-center drilling with a single setup.

The SL 3500Y/SY/LY/LSY and SL 4500XY/LY/XLY models offer a Ø430~Ø620mm range of turning diameters and 765~5,000mm range of turning lengths. This allows users to select the optimal model to match the desired workpiece size and length.
